I just wanted to wish Rupert Grint a Happy Birthday. It’s hard to believe that the kid that played Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter movies is 24 today. He really brought Ron to life on the big screen. He also did a few other films. There was ‘Driving Lessons’ with Julie Walters (ironically Julie Walters also played Molly Weasley in the Harry Potter films) and ‘Wild Target with Bill Nighy and Emily Blunt. I never got a chance to see them but I will one of these days.
I don’t know what he’s been up to since the last Harry Potter movie but recently he did carry the Olympic torch at 2012 Summer Olympics in London. In an interview he said, “it was an overwhelming experience that he had hoped to remember forever.” Seriously, he got to carry the Olympic torch. How cool is that?
Well, once again Happy Birthday Rupert. You truly are our king.
I would like to say Happy Birthday to the wonderful and very talented, Joanne Rowling, better known as JK Rowling. What can we say about this incredible woman. She literally went from “rags to riches” when create the Harry Potter series. Joanne was a single mother living on welfare and now she’s one of the richest women in the world. She is living proof that dreams can come true. It was so cool seeing her at the London Olympics Opening Ceremonies.
Also, if you guys are real hardcore Potter fans you would also know that July 31 just happens to be Harry Potter birthday as well. He was born in 1980, so if he was a real person he would be 32-years-old today.
In other Rowling news Joanne has a new book coming out called The Casual Vacancy. This will be her first published book since the Harry Potter series and it’s also her first book aimed at an adult audience. The book comes out on September 27, 2012. Anything JK Rowling or Harry Potter related I am all over it.
So Happy Birthday to Joanne and her creation, Harry. Thank you for bringing us great joy and for giving us a world to escape to from our everyday lives.
I just want to give a big birthday shout out to the once and only, Daniel Radcliffe, who turns 23 today. It seems like only yesterday that we just saw little Dan going off to Hogwarts for the first time. They grow up so first.
I remember reading somewhere about how he was in the bath when he got the news. His dad came running in and said “Guess what they want to play Harry Potter?!” Dan actually cried. I would too! Having the honor of playing Harry Potter would have been the greatest day of my life. Seriously, how many people get the chance to play such a beloved story book character and the big screen?
Even though the Harry Potter series is over already, we haven’t seen the last of Dan. I know he was in that one horror film, The Woman in Black that came out early this year. And he was this play called How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. I heard that one was good.
Once again, Happy Birthday Dan! I hope you have a great day.
I can’t believe another year has gone and I’m another year older. Today I turn 29-years-old and then next year I’ll be 30, the big three zero. Holy crap! Normally I don’t celebrate my birthday all that much. I usually just have dinner with family and friends but next year I want to do something big.
These are the ideas I had:
1. Go to The Labyrinth of Jareth Masquerade Ball in Los Angeles . It’s this big masquerade party they have every year and they have some of the best costumes I have ever seen! I would love for me and my friends to go to this.
2. Go clubbing downtown. I remember me and my friends had a girls night out and it was the most fun I had in a long time. I would love to do that again.
3. Get a tattoo. For the longest time I’ve been thinking of getting a tattoo, but I hate needles. My dad has at least three and it doesn’t really hurt. It will sting a little at first but then it will feel numb. I’m still on the fence on this one.
Those were the first things that popped in my head but I have all year to think about it. I just wanted to say thanks to all my family and friends who wished me happy birthday and thanks to all my readers for following my blog. You guys are the greatest.
Do you know the thing I remember most of 1999? Aside from starting my freshman year of high school I remember seeing the movie American Pie. It was about a group of high school seniors that made a pact to get laid before they graduated. After that they made American Pie 2 (2001) and American Wedding (2003).
There were also a few straight to DVD movies like Band Camp (2005), The Naked Mile (2006), Beta House (2007), and The Book of Love (2009).
I didn’t watch the straight to DVD films only the original ones with the original cast.
From these movies I’ve learned some valuable lessons: band geeks are nymphos, guys love MILF, make sure that your web camera is off, the rule of 3, if you’re going to use some kind of lubricant read the label first, after getting a “hair cut” throw it in the trash not out the window and most of all, don’t molest pies.
This film picks up thirteen years after the gang graduated from high school. Jim (Jason Biggs) and Michelle (Alyson Hannigan) are happily married and have a two-year-old son, Evan. Chris “Oz” Ostreicher (Chris Klein) is an NFL sportscaster living in LA with his supermodel girlfriend. Kevin Myers (Thomas Ian Nicholas) is married and works from home as a architect. Paul Finch’s (Eddie Kaye Thomas) whereabouts are unknown, and Steve Stifler (Sean William Scott) works as a temp at an investment firm.
They get an invite from John, MILF Guy #2, (John Cho) to attend their high school reunion. Now you would think they would have matured the last few years and outgrown a few things. Guess again!
Pulling pranks, sneaking out of someone’s house and getting caught in the most awkward positions is what the American Pie movies are all about. They may be older but deep down they’re still the same hormonal teenagers we fell in love with.
Of course, it’s not all about the laughs. You see how each of the characters are dealing with their now adult lives.
Jim and Michelle are having a dry spell in their sex lives. Every time they try to have some alone time something comes up. Plus, they have a son now. Evan walked in on Jim while he was putting on his “sock”. Also it doesn’t help that a girl that Jim used to baby-sit just turned eighteen and wants Jim to be her first. Luckily he has Noah (Eugene Levy) to turn to whenever he needs advice. You got to love Jim’s dad. He’s always there for his son. I love Jim and Michelle. They’re one of my favorite couples of all times. Because of them I’ll never be able to look at a pie and flute the same way again.
Oz bumps into his old high school girlfriend Heather (Mena Suvari), who is dating a heart surgeon. I didn’t like who they were with. Oz’s girlfriend, Mia, was a slut. And Heather’s boyfriend, Ron, was a total douch bag. It was clear they still had feelings for each other. They may have their careers but being together made them feel complete. Let’s face it. You never forget your first love.
Kevin also bumps into his ex, Vicky (Tara Reid). After having a few drinks, he wakes up next to her in bed, thinking they had sex. Vicky says they didn’t but gets mad at him for thinking she pull something like that. Luckily they made up and they’re still friends. There’s not a lot of people out there who are still friends with their ex.
Finch starts hanging out with Selena (Dania Ramirez), a former classmate and a friend of Michelle’s from band camp. She used to be really ugly in high school and now she is hot! You learn that all the things that Finch told the guys, about him traveling around the world, were lies. He’s actually an assistant manager at a Staples. I can understand him being embarrassed but his friends didn’t care. They still loved him. I’m glad he wasn’t mooning over Jeanine, Stifler’s mom (Jennifer Coolidge) again. As funny as it is to see him hook up with her and piss off Stifler he really needs to move on.
Out of all the guys, Stifler had to grow up the most. He was the same obnoxious jock from the first three movies. All Stifler thought about was partying and chicks. Yup, he was still the “Stifmeister”. However, despite Stifler being a dick, he does have one redeeming quality: he’s loyal. In the American Wedding, Stifler taught Jim how to dance and when he accidentally destroyed the flowers he felt bad about it and got new ones. You can say what you want about the guy but if you’re his friend, he will always have your back.
Man, seeing them all together again was great. There were also a few cameo appearances from the minor characters of the series. Nadia (Shannon Elizabeth), Jessica (Natasha Lyonne), Sherman, aka The Sherminator (Chris Owen). I love Sherman!
But the one scene that sticks out the most for me was when Jim’s dad met Stifler’s mom for the first time. It was really something to see two legends in the same room. I loved how they exchanged stories with each other about their sons.
Seriously, who would have thought that screwing a pie would become an American classic?
Out of boredom I went on youtube and watched some of my favorite music videos. Then it gave me an idea for my blog topic of today. Since I already wrote one about songs that I have to jam to in my share time. This one is about love songs.
You know how you hear a love song and you feel like it’s talking about you? Well, these are the songs that I believe describe my feelings for my boyfriend, who I love to death.
1. I’ll Be by Edwin McCain
2. These Are the Times by Dru Hill
3. Iris by Goo Goo Dolls
4. The Only Exception by Paramore
5. I Knew I Loved you by Savage Garden
6. Weak by SWV
7. A Thousand Years by Christina Perri
8. Hanging by a Moment by Lifehouse
9. For You I Will by Teddy Geiger
10. Back at One by Brian McKnight
11. All My Life by KC & JoJo
12. No Air by Jordin Sparks feat. Chris Brown
13. Smile by Uncle Kracker
14. Stereo Hearts by Gym Class Heroes feat. Adam Levine
15. When You’re Gone by Avril Lavigne
Yeah, I admit it. I get a little mushy sometimes. At least I’m not afraid to admit that I’m a romantic and that I have the ability to love unconditional. These songs speak to me. What do they say to you?
